The Dr Santana Carlos Award forms part of the programme for the International Conference of the Centro de Medicina de Reabilitação de Alcoitão (CMRA), which this year takes place from 22 to 24 October, under the theme ‘The Therapeutic Alliance in Rehabilitation’, as part of the celebrations marking the CMRA’s 60th anniversary.

Entries must focus on the conference theme, and are open to individuals who are registered for this year’s conference. The deadline for submitting entries for the Dr Santana Award has been extended to 10 September 2026, with the first prize worth 1,000 euros.

Submitted papers will be assessed in accordance with the Award’s regulations, and selected papers will be presented as oral presentations or posters during the event.

Participants may also submit their abstracts for possible publication in the Proceedings of the 2026 Conference. The Scientific Committee may select up to 12 abstracts for publication in the journal *Proceedings*, an open-access publication by MDPI.

The CMRA 2026 International Conference provides a forum for professionals working in the field of rehabilitation to meet and share ideas, promoting reflection on the current challenges facing the sector, interdisciplinarity and the search for new approaches centred on the needs of each individual.

Further information and the rules for the Dr Santana Carlos Award are available on the CMRA 2026 International Conference website.
