Lisbon represented at the 5th European Meeting of the KORALE Project
The ‘Lisbon, a City Full of Life for All Ages’ programme was one of the partners present at a working session focused on preventing and tackling social isolation and unwanted loneliness.
The ‘Lisbon, a Vibrant City for All Ages’ programme took part in the 5th European Meeting of the KORALE Project, which took place in Aarhus, Denmark, under the theme “Knowledge and Regional Action for Loneliness Prevention”.
This participation, whose delegation included Ângela Guerra, administrator of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, and Mário Rui André, director of the Santa Casa ‘Lisbon, a City Full of Life for All Ages’ Mission Unit, is also part of the work carried out by the KORALE | Lisboa Com Vida Community of Practice; the Portuguese delegation also included a presentation by the Senior Medical School at NOVA Medical School on the prevention of loneliness and social isolation amongst older people.
This 5th European Meeting of the KORALE Project is one of six planned under KORALE Community Rail, which aims to promote the sharing of knowledge and experiences, as well as the identification of good practices in combating social isolation and loneliness. In Denmark, in addition to attending the conference, the project partners met to review the progress of ongoing activities and prepare the next steps for the KORALE Project.
