The Nine Star Ki, or Ki Astrology, is a system based on the I Ching, the eight trigrams, the nine stars of the Big Dipper and the Lo Shu (magic square). Of Chinese origin, it was developed in feudal Japan and is associated with the Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is a form of astrology that is simple to learn, yet highly effective in analysing personality and relationships. There are 81 possible combinations. It is also based on a cyclical view of time, comprising cycles of nine years, months and days.
