Social Entrepreneurship

Support for social entrepreneurship and innovation projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Social entrepreneurship

Determined to address the most complex problems of the era of sustainability and social innovation, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa has been developing and supporting various social entrepreneurship and innovation projects, in partnership with leading individuals and organisations from the social economy sector, and aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda.

Santa Casa’s work in this area, embodied in Casa do Impacto, has evolved significantly. The solutions of the new era go through a space we call the fourth sector, at the intersection of the public, private and social economy sectors. Given its singularity, Misericórdia de Lisboa has played, over generations, a unifying and mobilising role within this space. It is precisely this role that the organisation seeks to play in the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation with social impact, both nationally and internationally.

Knowledge and experimentation

Santa Casa promotes and strengthens research through existing projects, combined with experimentation and co-creation focused on innovation in social impact, seeking to create a body of knowledge accessible both internally and externally to the organisation.
