To mark the European Heritage Days, whose European-wide theme this year is ‘Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine’, the Museu de São Roque invites visitors to reflect on the survival and disappearance of its own treasures, under the theme ‘Revisiting Treasures: Between Existence and Lost Heritage’. The programme invites the public to discover the two great treasures in the care of the MSR: the collection from the Chapel of St John the Baptist – designated a National Treasure in 2026 – and the collection of relics and reliquaries, themes which will be explored through talks, guided tours and family activities.
