The Chosen Work

During May 2025, the Museu de São Roque organised the ‘A Obra Eleita’ initiative, a participatory event that invited the public to choose their favourite work from a selection of 20 iconic pieces from the Treasury of the Chapel of St John the Baptist. The initiative was met with great enthusiasm and engagement from visitors. Recognising the importance and success of this selection, the Museum will dedicate the first four months of 2026 to organising activities that highlight this and other pieces from the Treasury of the Chapel of St John the Baptist. The next edition will be dedicated to the relics of the São Roque Collection, inviting the public to discover, appreciate and choose the piece that most moves and represents them.
