A museum housed in the former Portugal da Gama Palace, a seventeenth-century building that has been restored and converted into a museum to publicly display the collection of Asian art assembled by Francisco Capelo over more than 20 years. Comprising around 1,300 objects, the collection covers a wide range of artworks from various regions of Asia, dating from the 3rd century BC to the early 20th century, with pieces originating from fourteen Asian countries: India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Timor-Leste and the Philippines.
