Chinese New Year is celebrated at Casa Ásia – Francisco Capelo Collection
Tradition, art and a meeting of cultures in the heart of Lisbon.

Casa Ásia – Francisco Capelo Collection is celebrating the Chinese New Year with a special programme on 21 and 22 February, from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm, inviting the people of Lisbon to discover and celebrate the richness of Asian culture through a diverse range of cultural, educational and artistic activities.
As part of the cultural mission of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, Casa Ásia – Francisco Capelo Collection has established itself as a leading venue for the promotion of Asian art and cultures in Portugal, fostering intercultural dialogue, access to knowledge and the appreciation of heritage as a shared asset of the city. This Chinese New Year celebration reflects Santa Casa’s role as an active agent in promoting culture, diversity and inclusion, bringing Lisbon into dialogue with other regions and traditions.
Over the course of two days, the public is invited to take part in free events designed for all ages, with a particular focus on family-friendly activities, themed tours of the collection, film screenings and symbolic moments of collective celebration, such as the Dragon Parade, one of the programme’s highlights.
