Route for the 87th Volta a Portugal Jogos Santa Casa unveiled
The race will take place between 5 and 16 August and will pass through 71 municipalities, including a brief detour into Spain.

The route for the 87th Volta a Portugal Jogos Santa Casa, which will take place across the country from 5 to 16 August, with Jogos Santa Casa as the main sponsor, has now been announced. The race was unveiled on Wednesday 8 July at Alto da Senhora da Graça, in Mondim de Basto, a location well known to cycling enthusiasts in Portugal.
The race will pass through 71 municipalities and will also include a brief stretch in Spain. There is no shortage of traditional highlights, such as the finish at Torre and the climb to Senhora da Graça, which this year will, however, feature a double ascent. Furthermore, the 87th edition will traverse the country from north to south.
Among the four official jerseys is the Jogos Santa Casa Yellow Jersey, which will highlight, at each stage, one of the charitable causes supported by the proceeds from the games. Another major new feature is the live international broadcast via the HBO Max platform, supplemented by a highlights programme on Eurosport, in addition to the usual national broadcast on RTP.
