Saudi delegation visits the Rainha D. Leonor Integrated Long-Term Care Unit

The delegation is in Portugal to learn about the existing organisation and coordination in this area.

The Rainha D. Leonor Integrated Long-Term Care Unit, run by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, received a visit from a delegation from Saudi Arabia.

The delegation, comprising members of a healthcare business group based in Riyadh, are in Portugal to learn about the organisation and coordination between the public, private and social sectors in the field of healthcare, with a view to the development of the Saudi healthcare system in the coming years.

The delegation was welcomed by André Brandão de Almeida, Santa Casa’s director responsible for healthcare. After being presented with commemorative gifts from the institution, the Saudi delegation had the opportunity to tour the facilities of the Rainha D. Leonor Integrated Long-Term Care Unit and speak with professionals in fields such as occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

Finally, the group attended a presentation on the National Network for Integrated Long-Term Care and also had the chance to learn about the Centro de Medicina de Reabilitação de Alcoitão through a video.
