The Community Champions League brought some excitement to the Centro de Dia Rainha D. Maria I
A group of young people took part in a quiz and helped with the day-to-day activities at this facility run by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.

Last Friday, 13 February, the Centro de Dia Rainha D. Maria I welcomed a group of young people as part of the Community Champions League, a project run in Portugal by the Benfica Foundation and Gebalis, which brings participants together in a competition combining football with monthly community initiatives to benefit the local community, promoting sport, social inclusion and teamwork, amongst other values.
Accompanied by a team from the Avenidas Novas Parish Council, these young people had the opportunity to spend time with the service users at this facility run by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, creating intergenerational moments that were enriching for everyone.
The group took part in a themed quiz, organised by one of the centre’s service users, as well as helping with the day-to-day tasks at the Centro de Dia Rainha D. Maria I, specifically by helping to prepare the afternoon snack and setting up the room for the occasion.
The result was an afternoon full of fun and smiles that will certainly remain in the memories of all those involved.
