The magic of Christmas begins in September: The Classic Christmas Lottery gets underway today
Tickets for the 2026 Classic Christmas Lottery go on sale to the public today, 28 September, marking the start of one of the most iconic traditions of the festive season in Portugal.
This year’s draw has a top prize of 12.5 million euros, spread across 10 series of 100,000 tickets. The draw is scheduled for Saturday 26 December at 12.30 pm.
Under the slogan “Christmas begins with the Lottery”, the launch campaign will be featured in the usual media, on social media and at points of sale. The initiative presents the Classic Christmas Lottery as one of the traditional symbols of the festive season, encouraging people to seek out their “lucky number” and to give tickets to family and friends.
With strong links to Christmas celebrations, the Classic Christmas Lottery remains one of the most recognised traditions of the festive season in Portugal, associated with the anticipation surrounding the draw and the moments shared amongst family and friends.
