What is it?
It involves ensuring care for people who require therapeutic support, especially when removed from their social, family and financial environment, providing relevant information, referral and appropriate support.
This support is delivered through the responses of residential care, therapeutically assisted apartments, day centre, home care, therapeutic support and monitoring centres and directly observed treatment.

Admission criteria

Living in the city of Lisbon;
-
Lack of autonomy to meet basic human needs and specific health conditions;
-
Need for therapeutic support;
-
Precarious social, family and financial situation;
-
Situations of discrimination and isolation resulting from health status.
Home support requests can be made directly by the person concerned, by family members, by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa staff and by other community services (hospitals, IPSS, health centres).

Living in the city of Lisbon;

Needing therapeutic support and being in a precarious social, family and financial situation — particularly facing loss of housing and/or social isolation;
-
Having autonomy to carry out the activities required to meet basic daily living needs, or having mild dependency.
Admission is based on a proposal from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa staff, from staff of other community services (hospitals, IPSS, health centres), or at the request of the person concerned.
This service is subject to a means-tested contribution defined in the service regulations.
Eligibility conditions

Living in the city of Lisbon and being over 18;

Lack of autonomy to meet basic human needs;

Needing therapeutic support;

Being in a precarious social, family and financial situation;

Facing discrimination and isolation due to health status;

Needing skills training for social inclusion.
Admission is based on a proposal from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa staff, from staff of other community services (hospitals, IPSS, health centres), or at the request of the person concerned.
This service is subject to a means-tested contribution defined in the service regulations.
Provides support with treatment adherence and observed administration.
Eligibility conditions:

Needing therapeutic support;

Being in a vulnerable social, family and financial situation;

Lacking the skills to follow the treatment independently.
Admission is based on a proposal from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa staff, from staff of other community services (hospitals, IPSS, health centres), or at the request of the person concerned or their family. The Office operates at Centro Santa Maria Madalena.

Living in the city of Lisbon;

Aged 18 or over, in a vulnerable social, family and financial situation and/or at risk of accelerated ageing — particularly due to infectious, genetic and/or neurodegenerative diseases and side effects arising from them;

Poor treatment adherence and/or social isolation, due to the absence of family or serious family breakdown or dysfunction, are priority criteria for admission to this service.
