Information
In the municipality of Lisbon, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa replaces the Lisbon District Centre / ISS in managing the funding of assistive products.
SAPA funding is aimed at people with a disability and/or impairment who need assistive products to eliminate/mitigate activity limitations and participation restrictions arising from their disability/impairment.
To access this funding, you should go to the Local Development and Intervention Unit (UDIP) for your area of residence and present an Assistive Products Prescription Form, prescribed by one of the Specialised Prescribing Centres: Portuguese Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted (ACAPO); Jacob Rodrigues Pereira Institute (Casa Pia Lisboa); Calouste Gulbenkian Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centre (CRPCCG), Alcoitão Rehabilitation Medicine Centre (CMRA); Fundação LIGA.
Requests to loan assistive products can be made through Santa Casa’s Social Action and Health services. These products may be loaned subject to the assessment of Misericórdia de Lisboa’s technical team and the availability of the item requested.
Be resident in the city of Lisbon and, in the case of funding, submit an Assistive Products Prescription Form within its validity period (six months).
For any queries, please contact the Assistive Products Management Unit by phone +351 213 400 220 or email ngpa-scml@scml.pt.
