CMRA International Conference 2026
THERAPEUTIC ALLIANCE IN REHABILITATION
As part of the celebrations of CMRA’s 60th anniversary in 2026, the Centre is hosting the CMRA International Conference 2026, on the theme “Therapeutic Alliance in Rehabilitation”, aimed at all professionals who, directly or indirectly, are part of or work with rehabilitation teams. Your experience matters to all: register and take part in the programme we have prepared for you.

22 – 24 Oct 2026

The way we conceive of and deliver healthcare has changed profoundly over the past few decades. Advances in technology and scientific knowledge have made models based on the isolated action of a single healthcare professional insufficient, while the value placed on humanised, participatory and person-centred care continues to grow.
In this context, the therapeutic alliance takes on a central role. In Rehabilitation, it takes the form of a partnership between the person being rehabilitated, their family and the multi-professional team — with shared definition of objectives, joint decision-making, active listening and respect for the person's priorities and life context. Cooperation between professionals serves this partnership, ensuring coherence, continuity and complementarity of interventions, leading to better functional outcomes, greater participation in daily activities, greater satisfaction with care, greater professional fulfilment and more efficient use of resources.
Chair's letter
Dear Rehabilitation professionals,
It is with great satisfaction and joy that I welcome you to the CMRA International Conference 2026 – “Therapeutic Alliance in Rehabilitation”.
The theme, expressed in the title, reflects the concern of combining the best available science and technology with the best practical and human qualities and skills, to achieve the best results for each person who needs our care.
It will be a privilege to have your presence at this scientific and multi-professional meeting, which stands as a key moment for training, sharing and innovation in Rehabilitation.
This Conference has been carefully planned to foster a dynamic, inclusive and collaborative environment, where established experts from the most diverse fields can share, challenge ideas and inspire new approaches. I believe that the diversity of perspectives and the interdisciplinarity brought together here will be essential not only to deepen reflection, but also to drive effective solutions in the face of the increasingly complex challenges and the increasingly diverse range of solutions available, which shape our clinical practice.
Over these days, we intend to debate topics of great clinical and scientific relevance, in a space that will value rigour, interdisciplinarity and innovation. Your active participation and contributions will therefore be essential to enrich the discussions and strengthen the shared commitment to moving forward in building a more integrated, effective and efficient Rehabilitation — evidence-based and centred on the individual needs of each person.
The Organising Committee is committed to giving you a rewarding and memorable experience, in line with the success achieved at the 2024 Conference.
Our whole team is available for any queries or support — please do not hesitate to contact us.
I hope that this CMRA International Conference 2026 will help us strengthen, together, the professional alliance that is part of the Therapeutic Alliance which gives this scientific and training meeting its name and purpose.
We need everyone. We’re counting on everyone!
A very warm welcome.
